Here we are, at the end of the alphabet, dangling. I'd like to thank all the folks who have stopped by YSKOD, particularly those who shared comments. We're sitting at 70 posts. Not enough to truly know our discography, but enough to know whether you want to know more of it. So, do ya punk? If you want more, do me a favour and post a brief comment here letting me know which posts/bands you've liked best so far and what requests you have. If it looks like another trip down discography lane is warranted, then down it we shall know.
I know this, I like that you gave props to an old outfit of mine, Blanket, and your record collection has such range and variety, I just wait to see what you have in store for the next post, and so on, and so on...
ReplyDeleteSo for me, your surprises are what keep me coming back. I just enjoy hearing tracks from your collection! I hope you keep it up!
I only just discovered the site, and as a fan of that period of pop music, I really enjoyed it. Just the other day, I was ruing that I didn't have the Witch Hazel song on the Kramer's Beach compilation, and lo, there it was.
ReplyDeleteDo keep posting stuff. I have one specific request. Could you repost the Lorelei single? Their first single was simply stunning and now it's almost impossible to find. I was elated when I saw it on your site and crushed when I saw it was no longer available!

Hello, I just discovered your blog and regret terribly I didn't know about it earlier. You've posted a lot of amazing stuff from a special era in music. I'm delighted to have, for instance, the Veronica Lake stuff, but regret missing out on things like the Mountain Goats song from the I Like Walt comp; I used to have that album and it's gone like too much of the rest of the vinyl I collected in the early to mid nineties. I'm certainly going to keep checking back, and I hope you continue the site.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the Something Cool compilation has been a favorite of mine since it came out. Up there in the list of great comps with Pop American Style. The Poundsign song Michigan is essential to a happy life.

I love it and find it inspirational. All these great tracks shouldn't stay hidden on 7"vinal waiting for the odd day to get a listen, these need to be shared. I'm inspired to do a similar effort as I've enjoyed yours so much. Thanks. Chris
ReplyDeletejust discovered your site so I missed most of the stuff. I really really like the Whorl song! This is a very cool idea, as you well know.
ReplyDeleteLovely blog, please keep it going! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI also just discovered your blog. I particular like the Guided By Voices, Whorl and Windy&Carl songs. Thank you!
ReplyDelete(And as request, maybe some more of the bands I just named. Well, it doesn’t matter, your choice of posts was already good, so you choose :)
Thanks for keeping up this great blog--lots of songs I used to have on cassette tapes & a few I had on 7"--hard to say which posts are my favorites. I'll try though: Whorl, Thumbling, Strapping Fieldhands, Refrigerator, East River Pipe all stand out.
ReplyDeleteThis blog has just made my week. I can't wait to explore all the different posts but most of all I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to do this!
